Job Title: Biology Graduate Teaching Assistant - Secondary School - September Start
Location: Barnet, North London Salary: £105-£110 per day (Term time only) Contract: Full-time | 8:15am - 4:00pm | September 2025 start Trial Days Available: June 2025 Contract Type: Long-term (academic year) with opportunity for permanent role
Are you a Biology graduate looking to gain hands-on experience in a high-performing secondary school? This is a fantastic opportunity to join a supportive school in Barnet as a Biology Graduate Teaching Assistant from September 2025. You'll work closely with experienced science teachers, support student learning in Biology and across the wider Science department, and build valuable classroom experience for a future career in education or healthcare.
What You'll Be Doing:
Supporting KS3 and KS4 students in Biology lessons, including practical lab sessions
Leading small group interventions to reinforce key scientific concepts
Providing 1:1 support to students who need extra help with curriculum content
Assisting with lesson preparation, lab setup, and maintaining equipment
Helping with classroom behaviour, focus, and engagement
What We're Looking For:
A degree in Biology, Biomedical Science, or a related subject (2:1 or above preferred)
Strong communication skills and a passion for science education
A patient, proactive, and enthusiastic approach to working with young people
Previous experience in tutoring or working with students is a bonus, but not essential
