Job Title: Teaching Assistant - SEN (Primary School) Location: Greenwich Contract Type: Full-time Start Date: September
Veritas Education is currently recruiting on behalf of a welcoming and forward-thinking mainstream primary school in Greenwich, which is looking for a skilled and caring Teaching Assistant to join their SEN provision starting this September.
About the Role
You will be based in a specialised SEN classroom within the school, supporting pupils from across all year groups (EYFS to Year 6) who require additional support with their learning and emotional development. The role will involve working closely with children on a 1:1 basis as well as supporting small group activities, helping them to achieve their full potential in a calm, nurturing environment.
Key Duties:
- Support children with a range of special educational needs, including social, emotional, and learning difficulties.
- Assist with the delivery of individual and group learning plans.
- Promote positive behaviour and emotional well-being.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCo, and external professionals.
- Keep records of pupil progress and contribute to reports and reviews.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Previous experience working with children with SEN in a school or similar setting.
- Calm, patient, and empathetic approach to supporting individual needs.
- Comfortable working across all primary age groups.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- A relevant qualification (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant) is desirable but not essential.
