Behavioural Support Assistant
Pay: £90-£110 per day
Full-time/ Term Time only
Upminster, North London
Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people with autism? Join our dedicated and supportive team as a Behavioural Support Assistant, where you'll play a key role in helping children and young people thrive both academically and emotionally.
Behavioural Support Assistant Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct support to students with autism and associated needs.
- Assist in implementing individual behaviour support plans (BSPs).
- Encourage positive social interaction and emotional development.
- Support pupils with transitions and changes to routine.
- Work collaboratively with teachers and other professionals.
- Monitor progress and report on behavioural and emotional wellbeing.
- Use appropriate de-escalation techniques and maintain a calm, consistent approach.
Behavioural Support Assistant Requirements:
- Experience working with children or young people with autism or special educational needs (desirable).
- Understanding of autism spectrum conditions and challenging behaviour.
- Calm, empathetic, and proactive with strong communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
