SEND 1:1 Support Worker (KS1)
Location: Mirfield, Kirklees
Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated SEND 1:1 Support Worker to join one of our Primary schools. This position is available from May and offers a full-time, long-term and potentially permanent contract for the right candidate.
As a SEND 1:1 Support Worker, you will play a crucial role in providing personalised support to a child with various needs.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing one-to-one support to a student with autism.
- Implementing individualised education and behaviour plans.
- Creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
- Assisting the student in academic and social development.
- Monitoring and recording the student's progress.
- Collaborating with teachers and specialists to ensure a holistic approach.
- Promoting positive behaviour and communication skills.
- Adhering to school policies and safeguarding procedures.
Qualifications and Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and qualities:
- Previous experience working with children with autism or SEND needs.
- A genuine passion for supporting the educational and personal development of children.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- An understanding of autism and the various strategies to support autistic individuals.
- Relevant certifications or training in special education or related fields is an advantage.
