Job Title: Part-Time RECEPTION Teacher

School: Single-Form Entry Mainstream Primary School

Location: Lancaster

Start Date: Week commencing Monday 3rd June 2024

Hours: 1.5 DAYS (0.3FT)

Position Overview:

Veritas Education are seeking a passionate and dedicated Reception Teacher to join a supportive teaching team. This position will be as part of a job share. An excellent opportunity for an experienced educator with a strong background in early development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver high-quality, engaging phonics lessons using evidence-based programs such as Letters and Sounds or Read Write Inc., alongside the broader EYFS curriculum.
  • Incorporate a variety of multisensory activities and resources to support acquisition and develop early academic skills.
  • Create a supportive and stimulating learning environment that encourages active participation and fosters a love for development.
  • Assess pupil progress through ongoing observation, formative assessment, and periodic assessments, providing targeted support and intervention as needed.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices, participate in professional development opportunities, and contribute to the school's initiatives.
  • Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in education or relevant subject area, with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent certification.
  • Experience teaching in a EYFS setting, with a strong understanding of principles, progression, and effective teaching strategies.
  • Familiarity with phonics schemes such as Letters and Sounds, Read Write Inc., Jolly Phonics, Bug Club, or similar programs.
  • Excellent classroom management skills, with the ability to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment where all students can succeed.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and a reflective approach to practice.
