Description

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Special Educational Needs Teacher to join a fantastic team at an SEN school in Blackpool. As a Special Educational Needs Teacher, you will play a crucial role in providing tailored education and support to students with SEN, ensuring they receive the necessary tools and strategies to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

  • Location: Blackpool
  • Hours: 8.30am-3.30pm Monday-Friday
  • Rate: £200-£240 per day
  • Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons that cater to the diverse learning needs of students with SEN.
  • Create and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for each student, setting clear and achievable targets aligned with their abilities and educational goals.
  • Utilise a range of teaching strategies and resources, including visual aids, sensory tools, and technology, to facilitate learning and maximise student engagement.
  • Collaborate with other members of the multidisciplinary team, including speech therapists, occupational therapists, and behaviour specialists, to address the holistic needs of students.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment where students feel valued, respected, and empowered to reach their full potential.
  • Implement effective behaviour management techniques and interventions to promote positive behaviour and social skills development.
  • Monitor student progress and assess learning outcomes regularly, adjusting teaching strategies and interventions as needed to ensure continued growth and success.
  • Communicate effectively with parents/carers, providing regular updates on student progress, achievements, and areas for development.
  • Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills related to special educational needs
  • Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Special Education or relevant field (required)
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent certification
  • Experience working with students with special educational needs, preferably in a school setting
  • Strong understanding of SEN characteristics, behaviours, and learning styles, as well as evidence-based teaching strategies and interventions
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for making a positive difference in the lives of students with special educational needs
  • Ability to adapt and be flexible in a dynamic and challenging environment
