Job Title: Part-time SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator)
Location: Keighley, West Yorkshire
Contract Type: Part-time, 4-month fixed-term contract with possible extension
Hours: 2 full days and 2 half days per week
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

Role Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Part-time SENCO to join our team on a fixed-term contract basis. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) to thrive within our nursery environment. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced SENCO looking to make a positive impact on the lives of young children and their families.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the designated SENCO, providing support and guidance to staff in identifying and meeting the needs of children with SEND.
- Work closely with parents, carers, and external agencies to develop and implement individual education plans (IEPs) for children with SEND.
- Monitor the progress of children with SEND, making adjustments to support strategies as necessary.
- Provide training and support to staff members to enhance their understanding of SEND and inclusive practice.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation in line with statutory requirements.
- Collaborate with outside agencies and professionals to access additional support and resources for children with SEND.
- Stay up-to-date with relevant legislation, policies, and best practices in SEND provision.
Requirements:
- Relevant qualification in Early Years Education or a related field (minimum Level 3).
- Qualified SENCO status (desirable).
- Previous experience working with children with SEND, ideally within an early years setting.
- Strong understanding of SEND legislation, policies, and best practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with children, parents, and colleagues.
- Organized and proactive approach to SENCO duties, with the ability to prioritize and manage workload effectively.
Additional Information:
- This role is based in Keighley, West Yorkshire.
- The contract is for a part-time position, consisting of 2 full days and 2 half days per week.
- The initial contract is for 4 months, with the possibility of extension based on performance and nursery requirements.
- The successful candidate will join a supportive team dedicated to providing the highest standards of care and education for young children.
