Position: One-to-One Teaching Assistant
Location: Batley, Secondary School
Employment Type: Full-time Start Date: Easter
Job Description: We are seeking a dedicated and motivated individual to join our team as a One-to-One Teaching Assistant my local secondary school located in the Batley area. This is a full-time position starting at Easter. As a teaching assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the learning and development of a specific student within the school.
Responsibilities:
- Provide one-to-one support to a designated student, catering to their individual learning needs.
- Assist the student in understanding and completing classwork, homework, and assignments.
- Adapt teaching methods and materials to suit the student's learning style and abilities.
- Help the student develop essential skills, including literacy, numeracy, and social skills.
- Monitor the student's progress and communicate effectively with teachers and parents/guardians.
- Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment for the student to thrive academically and socially.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working as a teaching assistant or in a similar role, preferably within a secondary school setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a passion for supporting students with diverse learning needs.
- Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, parents/guardians, and other support staff.
- Relevant qualifications or training in education or special educational needs (SEN) would be advantageous.
