A PRU in Wandsworth is recruiting an experienced Maths teacher to start in September 2019. This is a full time position, until the end of the academic year.

This specialist provision caters for students aged 7-18 who have severe SEMH and associated needs. The provision caters for up to 100 students.

They are seeking a talented Maths teacher with experience working within a PRU or challenging mainstream school. You will be responsible for, planning and delivering creative lessons from KS3 - KS5. Many students are working at lower learning levels, so it is important there is clear differentiation so all students are able to engage in lessons. Each class has a maximum of 10 students and 2 teaching assistants for support.

Applicants who have been successful at the school have a calm personality, are innovative and dedicated.

The school is a short walk from a mainline station.

Key skills and experience needed:

  • Ideally have QTS, or extensive teaching experience in a school or alternative provision
  • Confident
  • Strong behaviour management or experience working with pupils who have SEMH
  • Professional manor
  • Enthusiasm and friendly approach
