Behaviour and Learning Support
Veritas Education are working with a secondary and post 16 provision in the Leeds area, looking to recruit multiple Behaviour and Learning Support staff members on a permanent basis.
The setting:
The provision supports children and young adults who are accessing post 14 education, completing mainstream curriculum alongside a range of vocational and practical courses. The facilities are set up to meet the needs and academic levels of all students, including practical workshops, interactive learning stations, inclusive social rooms and dedicated learning areas throughout the provision
The Role:
A behaviour and learning support staff member will be working across the classroom environment, around the practical areas and on a one-to-one basis with specific students. The role requires staff members to help develop learners' social skills, support educational growth, manage disruptive and crisis behaviour, and implement an effective mentor approach to supporting the teaching and learning.
The role requires support staff to work alongside a range of children, with varying needs, behaviours and academic levels, and be able to adapt their care and support to meet the needs and abilities of each learner around the provision.
Previous experience supporting the teaching and learning within an educational or similar setting is essential, alongside being comfortable supporting a range of needs and behaviours.
