We are currently working in partnership with a sought after Grammar School in East Lancashire, who are seeking to appoint a Teacher of Drama across KS3/4 (AQA); this will be to cover an upcoming maternity leave starting in January 2020.
A large selective coeducational academy grammar school in southeast Lancashire catering for around 1200 students aged 11-19. Graded as 'Outstanding' in January 2016 this school is led by an exceptional and visionary Principal, SLT and Governing body. There are high expectations throughout the school for all students and behaviour is exemplary. Achievement is amongst the highest both regionally and nationally and many of the sixth form students go on to sought after universities. A traditional building set in hilly grounds, with modern facilities and state of the art equipment, the school is welcoming, the staff are friendly and there is a warm ethos.
Essential Qualifications:
- Qualified Teacher Status
- A relevant honours degree
Essential Experience:
- A minimum of 1-year Drama teaching experience
- Experience of teaching Drama to KS3/4
- An in-depth knowledge of the GCSE Drama AQA curriculum
- Good understanding of engaging teaching methods in Drama
- Ability to engage, enthuse & motivate students
- Understanding of the use of assessment for Planning
