We are currently working in partnership with a popular High School in Blackburn who are seeking a Teacher of MFL (French is Essential) (German is Desirable) to cover an upcoming maternity starting in January 2020.
Our partner school is located in Blackburn, this large, popular, Church of England Academy is a mixed secondary school and sixth form with around 1300 students on roll. Graded as 'Good' by Ofsted, students achieve well here, their conduct around school is exemplary and Good teaching leads to Good progress over time. Leaders at all levels have a good understanding of the academy's strengths and priorities alongside a clear focus on improving achievement. It is a modern school with state of the art facilities throughout, good transport links and easily accessible with on-site parking.
Essential Qualifications:
- Qualified Teacher Status
- A relevant honours degree
Essential Experience:
- A minimum of 1-year MFL teaching experience
- Experience of teaching MFL (French & German) to KS3/4
- An in-depth knowledge of the GCSE MFL AQA curriculum
- Good understanding of engaging teaching methods in MFL
- Ability to engage, enthuse & motivate students
- Understanding of the use of assessment for Planning
