We are currently working alongside an 11-16 College in Burnley who are seeking to appoint a Teacher of Science to cover a maternity from January 2020 until the end of the academic year.
Our partner school is a thriving, mixed, 11-16 high school with a truly comprehensive intake of students from across the region. With high standards and high expectations for students, this rapidly improving school recently achieved its best ever results (2016) and are consistently improving year on year. Both Ofsted and visitors alike have commented on the excellent behaviour and attitudes of the students and for incoming teachers, not only do they come into a welcoming environment, but they can enjoy the benefits of a modern building, with state of the art facilities throughout.
Essential Qualifications:
- Qualified Teacher Status
- A relevant honours degree
Essential Experience:
- A minimum of 1-year Science teaching experience
- Experience of teaching Science up to KS3/4
- Evidence of good classroom practice within Science
- Good understanding of engaging teaching methods
- Ability to engage, enthuse & motivate students
- Understanding of the use of assessment for Planning
