- Job Title: 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant - Reception Location: Garstang Start Date: January 2026 Contract: Long-term Hours: 08:30 - 15:30, Monday to Friday
About the Role:
We are looking for a caring and proactive SEN Teaching Assistant to provide one-to-one support for a Reception pupil with Autism, developmental delay, and who is non-verbal. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in a child's early education journey.
While the primary responsibility will be supporting this pupil, there will be times when you will assist with general classroom TA duties, sharing the one-to-one responsibility as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored support to meet the pupil's individual needs.
- Assist with communication and social interaction strategies.
- Support learning activities in line with the EYFS curriculum.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Occasionally assist with general classroom support when required.
- Some personal care may be required occasionally (not essential).
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with children with SEN, particularly Autism, is highly desirable.
- Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to supporting learning.
- Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and other staff.
