SEN Intervention Teacher
Location: Hayes Contract Type: Full-time / Permanent Salary: £150 to £220 per day
We are working with a secondary school in Hillingdon who are looking for a dedicated SEN Intervention Teacher to join our team and provide targeted support for students with Special Educational Needs in Key Stage 3. The successful candidate will work closely with classroom teachers, the SENCO, and support staff to deliver high-quality interventions that enable students to access the curriculum and achieve their full potential.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver individual and small-group interventions for students with SEN, including those with ASD, SLCN, and EAL needs, as identified in EHCPs and SEN support plans.
- Adapt teaching strategies to meet diverse needs, ensuring lessons are structured, clear, and engaging for students who require additional support with focus and motivation.
- Use visual aids, simplified instructions, and differentiated resources to support learners with language and communication difficulties.
- Monitor and assess progress, maintaining accurate records and reporting outcomes to the SENCO and class teachers.
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Experience working with students with ASD, SLCN, EAL, and other SEN needs
- Strong understanding of EHCPs, SEN Code of Practice, and effective intervention strategies
- Ability to differentiate lessons and manage behaviour positively
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Enhanced DBS Check / 2 Satisfactory reference
