Pupil Referral Unit

Veritas are working with a Pupil Referral Unit situated in the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham who are looking to replace learning support assistants. The children within the school have challenging behaviour and are from difficult backgrounds- so it is essential you are understanding and direct towards their academic progress.
They require an LSA who is able to support an individual who has social, emotional and mental health (SEMH). The role may be challenging in regards to pupils behaviour however when progress is made it is rewarding process. It is important that you are capable to identify their weaknesses to support them accordingly and allocate targets towards their progress and EHCP (Educational Health Care Plan). You will be working alongside the class teacher and the school's SENCO (Special Education Needs Coordinator).
Key skills and requirements
- Degree is preferred in core subjects or similar.
- Experience with secondary aged children/challenging individuals
- High levels of professionalism.
- Driver with license is preferred
- Subject to an Enhanced DBS Check
