Start asap *** Learning support Assistant (LSA) ***HounslowVeritas is currently working with a co-ed mainstream secondary school based in Hounslow. The school are looking for a learning support assistant to work 1:1 and with small groups, supporting KS3 students (year 7 and 8). A background/ experience of working with ages 11- 14 is desirable but not essential. The candidate will be part of a supportive and tight-knit team. The role will involve supporting SEN students with ASD, ADHD, Dyslexia and also learning and communication difficulties. You will be responsible for improving social skills, monitoring behaviour and liaising with senior staff. This role will start asap and continue until July. For the right candidate there is a possibility it will continue into the next academic year. To ensure consistency for the students, the school are only able to interview those that can commit until at least July.The school is located close to various local bus routes and a short walk from a mainline train station. There is also plenty of free parking on site. Key skills and experience needed:
- Graduate from a leading University
- Experience working with children or young adults with SEN
- A firm presence and strong behaviour management
- Professional manner
- Enthusiastic, friendly, patient and determined approach
