We are currently working with a SEN school in Southwark. They are recruiting a number of support workers to complete short and long term assigments. You will be supporting children in early years through to KS2, who have various special needs including ASD, SLD and communication difficulties. Working hours will be 8.15am-4.30pm, Monday to Friday.
Students are offered a rich and diverse curriculum, while making sure work is differentiated to meet individual needs.
You will work on a 1:1 basis, supporting them both academically and emotionally. The selected candidate will also meet with therapists and senior members of staff to discuss techniques to support students academically, as well as with communication and social skills. Knowledge of PECs and Makaton is desireable. There will be personal care involved.
The school are looking for committed members of staff, who can easily commute to Southwark and have a proven track record working in an SEN school.
The school is accessible from a mainline station and served by a number of popular bus routes.
Key skills and experience needed:
- Current DBS check
- Previous support work within an SEN school or provision
- Professional manor
- Enthusiasm and friendly approach
