****ASD SPECIALIST TA ****
**** SEPTEMBER START ****
**** LAMBETH ****
A large SEN school in Lambeth is recruiting an experienced Teaching Assistant to start in September 2018. This is an ongoing full time position. Working hours will be 8.20am - 4pm Monday to Friday.
The school provides an exceptional education with individualised planning, so each child is able to learn at their own pace. Each student has an ECHP for multiple needs including ASD and learning difficulties.
The selected candidate will be working on a 1:1 basis supporting a child who ASD and complex needs. He is currently working on P Levels, with hopes for him to progress well in the new academic year. The student struggles to follow instructions and requires a patient teaching assistant that will provide clear and concise instructions, giving him time to process these and then follow through. He sometimes struggles in lessons and will often leave class or even try to leave the premises, therefore he will need a TA who is happy to be with him at all times and has the ability to de-escalate situations, while also implementing positive reinforcement.
Due to the students' needs the school are looking for an experienced staff member, who has had extensive ASD training. Training in Team Teach and safeguarding is also advantageous.
In return the school will offer CPD, support and a friendly working environment.
