An oversubscribed Performing Arts secondary school in Lambeth is recruiting x2 teaching assistants to start in September 2018. Both posts are full time, 8.30am -4pm Monday to Friday.
This secondary school is highly-regarded in the borough, and has impressive facilities. There are statemented pupils in each year group, who are supported by enthusiastic and experienced teaching staff who make full use of the school's well-equipped facilities, allowing them to give students the appropriate level of support to enable them to succeed academically and socially.
These particular positions will required the selected candidates to support 2 male students who have physical difficulties (Cerebral Palsy). As well as supporting in lessons, you will also assist at break times. Personal care will be required, therefore manual handling training is a must. With guidance from the SENCO you will work in partnership with class teachers to provide adaptations and materials for the student where needed.
They are looking for committed members of staff, who are familiar with school settings and available for the duration of the booking. The school are also open to CVs from candidates who have worked in the care sector.
The school is accessible from a mainline station and is served by a number of buses.
Key skills and experience needed:
- Current DBS check
- MUST HAVE Manual handling training
- Experience with support or TA work
- Professional manor
- Enthusiasm and friendly approach
