Literacy Intervention Assistant
Pay: £100-£115 per day
Full-time/ Term Time only

Are you passionate about supporting children with special educational needs (SEN) and helping them develop essential literacy skills?
We are seeking a patient, dedicated, and enthusiastic Literacy Intervention Assistant to work closely with students who have a range of additional learning needs. This role focuses on delivering targeted literacy support and ensuring that every child can thrive, regardless of their starting point.
Literacy Intervention Assistant Role:
- Deliver structured literacy interventions to SEN pupils, both 1:1 and in small groups
- Adapt materials and teaching strategies to meet a variety of learning needs (e.g., dyslexia, autism, speech and language difficulties)
- Support pupils in developing reading comprehension, phonics, spelling, and writing confidence
- Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and external specialists to support individual education plans (IEPs)
- Track progress and provide regular feedback on pupil development
Literacy Intervention Assistant Requirements:
- Experience supporting children with SEN in an educational setting
- A strong understanding of literacy development and/or specific learning difficulties
- Knowledge of literacy intervention strategies (e.g., Read Write Inc, Precision Teaching, Toe by Toe, etc.)
- Excellent communication and empathy skills
- A calm, consistent, and positive approach to behaviour and learning support
