* Start September 2019 *GRADUATE TEACHING ASSISTANT Hounslow Veritas are currently working with an all boys secondary school based in Hounslow. The school are looking for a dedicated graduate Teaching assistant to be a positive influence & role model for these young male students. The candidate will join a large & supportive SEN department within the mainstream school. The school are particularly interested in meeting candidates that have a keen interest in pursuing a career in teaching. The role will involve supporting KS3 and KS4 students in small groups, the candidate will also be appointed a key student to support 1:1 throughout the year.The candidate will be supporting SEN students with ASD, Dyslexia and also learning and communication difficulties, therefore, an understanding of SEN and an empathetic nature is essential. You will be responsible for improving social skills and also monitoring behaviour. Behaviour management skills are desirable. The school is located close to various local bus routes and is a short distance from a mainline train station. There is plenty of free parking in nearby streets.
Key skills and experience needed:
- Graduate recently from a leading University
- Experience working with children or young adults with SEN
- B or above in maths/ science/ english at A level
- Strong behaviour management
- Professional manner and enthusiastic
- Resilient and patient
